I laughed when I read this...

I guess it can only happen in Australia.

Boy, 7, feeds zoo creatures to croc
SYDNEY: A seven-year-old boy broke into a popular outback zoo, fed a string of animals to the resident crocodile and bashed several lizards to death with a rock, the zoo's director said yesterday.

The boy jumped over a security fence at the Alice Springs Reptile Centre in central Australia early on Wednesday, and then went on a 30-minute killing spree, using a rock to slay three lizards, including the zoo's beloved 20-year-old goanna, which he then fed to 'Terry', a 3m-long, 200kg saltwater crocodile, said zoo director Rex Neindorf.

The boy, whose deadly acts were caught on the zoo's security camera, also threw several live animals to Terry over the two fences surrounding the crocodile's enclosure, at one point climbing over the outer fence to get closer to the giant reptile.

In the footage, the boy's face remains largely blank, Mr Neindorf said. It 'was like he was playing a game'.

The zoo's security system relies on sensors and probably did not detect the boy as he was so small, he said.

The boy caused the death of 13 animals worth around A$7,000 (S$7,900), including a turtle, bearded dragons and thorny devil lizards. Although none was rare, some will be difficult to replace, said Mr Neindorf. 'We're horrified that anyone can do this, and saddened by the age of the child,' he said.

Alice Springs police said they had identified the boy, who lives in the area, but were unable to press charges because of his age.

The zoo is planning to sue the boy's parents. 'If we can't put the blame on the child, then someone has to accept responsibility,' said Mr Neindorf.

In memory of a hero...

It’s been 2 days since a patriot of Singapore died. Rest in peace JBJ.

We were told that we need to pay millions of dollars every year for
each of our leaders in order to ensure that the best people are always
in power. You proved them wrong. You gave up your cushy government job
and your money only to be insulted and treated with disdain. In my eyes
you were more qualified than any other to be our leader.

Thanks for everything.

Being in the opposition in Singapore all these years has
cost you dearly and you even had to sell off your properties. Any
regrets?

I did not have many properties but I had to sell a bungalow in a
very fashionable area in Singapore to pay the judgement obtained by
Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. Having sold that, three years later I
bought a small apartment, and then I had to sell that too. All in, I
had easily about 12 to 13 suits to pay off. Some people say I was a
fool. All I can say is I do not regret it because, to me, life is not
all about making money and acquiring wealth. Life is doing something
for the people around you.
