Going through the Statutes Online (all our laws) and found this!:~

Short title.

"Association" means the Boy Scouts Association incorporated under the Royal Charter granted on 4th January 1912;

Penalties.
7. Any person who contravenes any of the provisions of this Act shall be guilty of an offence, and on summary conviction thereof before a Magistrate’s Court shall be liable to a fine not exceeding $200.

Quite cool, no other UG has the own act! So if you see some cock wearing the scout uniform and is not a scout, can get him charged!

can read that if you have nothing better to do...

rushing rushing

rushing to edit this Sirius Video coz time is running out....

don't know how to describe it to you guys... its fun to do, edit, play around with music and the cuts and all... but coz i'm rushing and really coz i've got no one familiar with the project with me to comment, what i'm doing, no matter how long and how much work i put in, is still going to be a first draft.. and its going to stay that way, finalised, voila.. .etc etc.. so.. LLST again...

just doing the best i can but i feel reaaly under alot of pressure... fun lah.. but still, must do a good job.. and i have multiple ideas on presentation too.. .so hopefully it all works out.

looking forward to coming back soon. :D

Nothing much, studing, thats all

The title says it all!

haha, maybe just give a quick run down of what i have to study for.

Management Accounting - I think this is most likely one of the 3 most useful modules I will study in this course. The 1st few lessons I was completely lost, but now it all make sense and ONLY sense to me. ;). For those not in the know, this includes stuff like budgeting, quantifing purchase desicions and calculation cost of production.
Date of exam: 24th Oct
Readyness: Just need to do some more practise

Employment Relations - Learn about stuff like Tripartism, which is the trade union(NTUC), gov(mainly MOM) and employers who work together to achieve industrial peace(no strikes, etc). Also got some practical tips on how to handle discipline and other basic HR issues.
Date of exam: 1st Nov
Readyness: Know the basics, need to do research for the distinction!

Commercial Law - Covers the legal aspect about contracts, torts of negligence(about if you do something wrong, and someone is affected, what is the legal implications), sale of goods and agency(what are the rights of a person representing a company). *I got back the result of the test, was a High Distinction(equivalent to an A). ;)
Date of exam: 2nd Nov
Readyness: Its an open book, so my notes are 85% done, just agency left to add in. Confident of a good grade as had a world-class teacher for this

Macro Economics - Just about the big picture of economics, GDP being like the main focus(there is alot to know about GDP). Quite abstract, but I guess it can be related to real life. The exam will only test of knowledge of concepts, so knowing that perfectly is the key.
Date of exam: 6th Nov
Readyness: Have a general idea what is going on, need to make that into a sure idea of what is going on

Well, thats the low down for me, looks forward to seeing shamir and aung together after the exams. Maybe we can go back to RK, see how shamir's friend there is doing, Kann geeee rooooo.

South Africa also won the rugby world cup, yeah.
;)

talking to a druglord

aung caught me on gmail chat yesterday.. .quite funky... didn't expect it to be, but the IM was pretty smooth.. not as flexible as MSN though.. still not bad.

it's 1.20 am. Jonathan embarks on yet another funfilled night of study/research/mugging

So I'm Really really stoned. And I got me a picture to prove it! Hahaha, I'm burning the midnight oil tonight not to play war of the ring, not even to have a late night supper. Truth is, I got me some research to finish by tomorrow morning! I actually had a whole week to do it. But, you know, no one ever sets out to procratinate. It just happens. Well.... It happens for me anyway.

In times like this, Red Bull is my good friend.

So that's me. The life of a smugger is not always difficult. But I had to procrastinate and make it shitty after all.

Cheers.

home entertainment

I WANT TO BREAK FREE!!!!!
I WANT TO BREAAAK FREEE!!!!

but i can't..... what to do... LLST.... nbcb.... can't do jack shit.

can't say that's completely a bad thing coz i'm also learning stuff about myself. so its interesting...

and then i have a highly entertaining brother.... pity. talked most of it to varun just now on MSN so i'm like now energy-less to share it with you guys. but its mainly about how much crap he has to say about himself....

sometimes just as entertaining as Neslooow Peeng!

same reaction to both of them; WTF!?!?!

anyway, finally settled my uni app in terms of payment for the processing fee and all that... had to pay an extra $11.00 to take out my VCA application because just to apply to VCA it cost $130.. and john didn't want to pay that much... so pay 11 to cancel lor...

then he's recently talked to some head of some big media company here and she didn't have much good things to say about RMIT and was more favourable of VCA (already in the process of removing the VCA app) so i don't know what's his problem

so when i say VCA removed he goes 'like that huh?' in his cheap singlish imitation. fucking annoying... and then he asks me so how? and i say well, lets hope i get RMIT. and he says that he thinks in terms of audio eng JMC would be better and although its my second choice, i still reply to him, 'perhaps but no, its too expenseive..' and he says, its not that much more expenseive what... stupid fuck. RMIT cost will be about $12-15k all in all. fees+projects... JMC fees alone for one year is already $13k. not that much more expensive?!?!... and the idiot's got a degree in maths... he's so easily influenced by opinion but then won't listen to me when i tell him i'm not 100% decided on being an audio engineer.. that the production aspect of the industry is just as appealing... stuuuupid moron. fucking annoying... these idiots think that what?? i'm 10 years old they can decide what's good for me what i should do what i should think?? morons.

oh well.. SSDD.

Riding

Not really a post on anything, maybe on just what I am thinking about the advantages of riding a motorbike.

First, lets talk about the money. So, is it cheaper to ride a motorbike to school? The answer is no, it costs a little more. So how is the number calculated?

1. Petrol ~ The phantom runs around 200km on around 6l of petrol or 34km/l. So, a return trip to school(~40km) consumes less then $2 in petrol. I think the bus fare is around $1.20 one way.
However, the cost of maintainence also needs to be calculated. Cost of road tax, repairs and change of parts, annual check and insurance jacks up the price. Lucky parking if free, mostly. So all of these come to around $40 per month.
So thats around $80 - $85 per month, of course excluding depreciation. Taking a bus would cost around $60 - $70 per mth, including commuting to other places.

2. So if the price is not the main factor, what is? For one thing, riding is the FASTEST average in terms of travelling time. I think driving or taxi maybe faster on good days, but when there a jam, bikes can travel at 60km/hr on the expressway. Also, since I live beside the PIE, which also happens to lead directly to SIM, its damm fast. 25min MAX - the time taken for me to walk out of my gate to the time I step into whatever class. No comparison. You dont know what it feels like to be home 20 mins after a sian class. ;)

3. In addition to being very fast, it is also fun! Other then maybe taking a powerboat or plane and parachuting to school, riding has to be the most fun way to travel. You look forward to going to school, just so you can ride! Its a great feeling, like flying maybe. ;)

4. A moving locker. No need to say more.

5. Detouring. If I want to jog in Macritchie, no prob, just get off at Lornie instead and go. If I need to go elsewhere, eat at subway maybe, go for a haircut, grab a waffle, no prob, its all no prob. The ability to go anywhere and stop anywhere is something even the most efficient transport system cannot provide.

6. The general use of going around. Like when I was driving, could meet my instructor anywhere, cos of the bike. Or when you have to go to ulu places, eg. Changi V or Sarimbun, it would take forever on a bus. Riding has made me impatient, so I dont think I can ever go back to public transport completely!

Having said all the good stuff, there are some bad stuff as well. For example, I am at danger at dying or getting serious anytime. I maybe the safest rider in the world, but that wont protect me when a bus bangs into me or something.
Also bikes dont work well in rain. It does not matter to me on the way back, but if I leave my home when its raining, I dont ride.

So riding is the most efficient mode of transport and the gov would do well to promote it. ;)

Math, then law. So what's next?

Wah lau you guys are putting the rest of us in your shadow eh? I was gonna talk about all that finance stuff i was learning in class. But.. I can't really remember it! Hahaha.

Okok. But seriously. I've really been quite bored at school. The only thing that's really interesting are the 2 jazz/latin bands that I get to play in. That's about what I look forward to in school. We basically have a studio in school with drums and amplifiers and stuff and I get to use that studio to jam and play whatever I want!

Other than that school really is not very interesting. The module that I'm taking on New York has stopped lessons. We will resume only when we are actually in the big apple! So I'm looking forward to it. But it isn't very interesting at all when it's not even a module that I can attend at the moment!

Living in Fear

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7029957.stm

Its a saturday morning.

and i'm awake!!

not feeling sleepy at all though the weather now is very chilly. been raining alot last night, which is a really good thing. hopefully water storage levels will increase dramatically with more rain and then there will be less water restrictions.

kinda praying for a great big thunderstorm lasting a few days, maybe a week...

last week of fasting. wonder whether we'll be going to any mosque or not, doubt it coz the event of a racial attack, with guns and all, on mosques here during muslim holy festivals, is sadly quite high...

just using this morning, was up since 4, to type in a report for Sijie to submit to NYC regarding the sabah trip... i hope i have the self discipline to get cracking on the video.

strangely had a dream about that last night... i was like sort of coaching a class of kids and was screaming self discipline down their throats... weird man. its like the kind of thing i need now...

actually, i really wouldn't mind some company now... its really difficult to do any kind of editing work alone coz of the high demand in creative and technical brain power.. .kinda drains all the energies out of you... but then, i was thinking about it in the shower past few days.. there's really jack shit i can do about it... i'm alone here and now so if i really want to get the video done i'm going to have to slog it away all by myself. and since i do want to do it, i guess i just have to get some self discipline into my system and get the work done!!

haha..

ok. that's about it for now... yes, other that this normal stuff my life's pretty boring enough to have nothing much to blog about. unless you want to hear of my exploits in Oblivion.. hahaha.. just got Level 13 yesterday.. out of a 100. not sure how far i am with the quests and story line though.. probably about 10% only...... been aobut 60 hours of play time.

yep... Good Morning!!

Got Marks

I feel GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Yes, I do.

But before that i must critize shamir and tsang for not posting. maybe wu also. Chua is execused, until he joins. Why are you not posting anything, are your lives so boring that they are not worth mentioning? ;)

Back to the story:

So i took a test on the Law, around 2 hours ago. And a question came out, which will total end up being 6% of the total marks. And when i read the Q, i was like what the fuck?!?!?!

"Explain what is the doctorine of seperation of powers and how it is practically implemented."

NOONE has ever read this. When I say noone, i mean noone. In the textbook, it comes on in a single line! not even in the index!

Well, when i first read it, i did not know what it meant. So i just did the other Qs, it was the last Q anyways.

Half-way while doing the 2nd q, it hit me. I remember reading about some thing of this sort in the US constitution(which i read 2-3 yrs ago). Sounded something like how they had the president, congress and all.

So I applied to SG's context and when i came home and checked it out, I was right. I repeat, I was right!
Well, I hope this puts me in good standing relative to the rest to get High Distinction. ;)
